Before Surgery

  • Wash your hair & remove all makeup, eyelashes

  • Ensure you have not had botulinum toxin in the forehead, corrugators or brow region if undertaking eyelid surgery as this can affect surgical procedure and outcome

  • Please inform the day surgery if you are concerned about a possible infection or illness

  • Ensure we have your full list of medications, allergies and medical history.

    • Anaesthetists and hospitals will need to know if you are taking GLP1 inhibitors which can delay gastric emptying

    • The surgeon would like to have the option of plan surgical timing around the ability to modify or stop blood thinners, pain relievers from the NSAID class or supplemental therapy or to delay surgery following botulinum toxin injections
